Hagi
Posted on June 3rd, 2009
I have a great time at Iroha Sake Bar Hagi on a rare excursion to Midtown Manhattan.
The Japanese restaurant is at 152 W 49th Street (between 6th and 7th). At $20/head for all our food, it ain’t a raw deal either.

D-Day Rally
Posted on May 29th, 2009
I feature the New York’s D-Day rally protesting the California Supreme Court ruling to uphold Proposition 8, effectively keeping a ban on same-sex marriage in the state.
The first nation to legalize same-sex marriage was The Netherlands in 2001. Since then, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, and Sweden have also made in legal.
As far as the U.S., three states currently have marriage equality: Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa and soon to be Vermont and Maine. In New York, the state recognizes legal same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions but do not perform their own.
I see good people of all ages and colors march at the rally. Live and let live, is what I say.

Breakneck Ridge
Posted on May 27th, 2009
I take the Metro-North early on a Friday to go hiking with friends at Breakneck Ridge, just outside Cold Springs, NY. We climb up for views of the Hudson and head back to New York City at the end of a strenuous day.
Here’s a photo of Breakneck Ridge from across the Hudson River:
