My first week in Madrid is marked by rainstorms, I mostly stay in.

El Palacio de Comunicaciones overlooks the Plaza de Cibeles. The landmark was built between 1905 and 1917 by Antonio Palacios as the headquarters of the post office.

Federico García Lorca guards the Plaza de Santa Ana. He is a dramatist and poet and early victim of the Spanish Civil War.

I visit La La Plaza Mayor in early christmas season. Plaza Mayor has at times been named La Plaza de la Constitución, most recently during the Second Spanish Republic.

My first spanish amigo is of an orange tint.

I arrive at Madrid Chamartín station at the ass of dawn.
