The Green Revolution

New York holds a rally in solidarity for the Iranian people rising after Ahmedinejhad seemingly steals the election of June 12th, 2009 from Mousavi. The government of Iran has since cracked down on massive citizen protests with brutality, arrests, and wide censorship of media.
Lots of Iranian-American women attend the rally, which is nice to see. They’ve suffered most from the oppressive regime.
If you haven’t seen it, a great movie about Iran’s recent history is Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis. Trailer below:

Fountain at Washington Square Park

Washington Square Park is re-opened after 18 months of renovation with its fountain, now moved 23 feet, in full bloom.
